About PEP

Post by johnhirix » Fri, 20 Jul 2012 11:33 pm

Hey guys,

Is it true that the PEP holder does not consume the company's EP quota?
If so then do I get a chance when a job advertisement shows "Only Singaporean and PR should apply"?

Cheers John

In theory, no & yes. No because there are no quotas for EP holders (except for S passes & WPs) and Yes, but most companies don't know what a PEP is. Therefore, you may or may not get a response. The odds are you won't unless somehow you can cause them to read your cover letter long enough for you to explain to them.

Employment passes including PEP are not governed by the foreign workers quota, only S pass and work permits are. However, only Singaporean citizens or PRs can be counted as local workers to compute the allowable quota for S pass and work permits

I think you guys miss read OPs question.
I think he is talking about company's quota(or rather ratio) of foreigners in the total staff.

As a PEP holder is also considered as a foreigner, it affects the ratio negatively, no?
