Good banks in Singapore for the short term?

Post by vpansare » Thu, 19 Jul 2012 10:50 am

Hi all,

Does anyone have any advice for opening a checking/current account for a Short Term Stay (~3 months)? I checked DBS and for EP holders they have a S$1000 minimum and a fee for closing the account within 6 months. Not that bad but not having the minimum balance and time requirement would be nice. Thanks!

Try POSB. although you may have to pay extra $10-15 for the cheque book.

@moolh2000 : thanks but it seems like POSB has the same account conditions for EP holders as DBS.

POSB will have the same six month term that DBS does. They're the same bank.

You're going to have a hard time finding any bank without that term OR a high minimum deposit. The whole point of either is so they don't lose money on you as a customer.
