Hi
I'm Jeremy! I am moving to Singapore sometime in 2013. I joined this forum because when I move I will not know anyone except for my family that I am staying with.
Please help me become more knowledgable of Singapore!
Thanks
JL
ps.
Tell me the best places to meet people!

Start with this one first:

If you have guts, just hop over to bars and pubs in Clarke Quay or Holland Village or Orchard Road, whichever you fancy, and chat up.

Hahaha. This all seems very helpful but maybe I should go into more detail.
I want to learn more about the culture that I'll be throwing myself into. I am half Singaporean. I am pretty Americanized. Are there any specific do's and don'ts? I read online about a lot of laws and what not.
I posted on asiaone forums and most of the replies told me to stay away and called me FT.
Not the best experience on that forum.
So far so good here!

Well if you specifically want to learn about the local cultures, just browse around the forum, usually under General Discussions but some are discussed other subforums. Just use the wonderful search function using keywords of things you wanna know about such as 'kiasu', 'FT', 'fashion', 'courtesy', 'food' etc... endless!
Enjoy.
