Just got this when I clicked on a thread. My guess it is from one of your advertisers.

Hah apparently it is. I didn't look hard, since I, *ahem*, use an extension to block all of the ads anyway. I just assumed it was something already blocked.
False alarm then.

Yeah I block all ads as well, and have a fully up to date PC. That site has not come onto my radar as a problem yet!

Actually the culprit is JR8. He's linking directly to planetsmilies for some of his smilies and that one is noted for installing malware. I just deleted the offending post in Bosses from Hell. By the way JR8, you have a PM!

When you use Google's incognito mode, you know that smileys are mostly likely suspect from the get-go:
You've gone incognito. Pages you view in this window won't appear in your browser history or search history, and they won't leave other traces, like cookies, on your computer after you close all open incognito windows. Any files you download or bookmarks you create will be preserved, however.
Going incognito doesn't affect the behavior of other people, servers, or software. Be wary of:
Websites that collect or share information about you
Internet service providers or employers that track the pages you visit
Malicious software that tracks your keystrokes in exchange for free smileys
Surveillance by secret agents
People standing behind you

Sorry peeps, the site came up fine when I originally went there last month and copied some of the hot-link URLs to a desktop file...

I've switched to Ghostery. It covers all kinds of tracking/ad networks. Occasionally it kills comments on articles that use things like "Disqus" or other third party comment systems. But whenever that annoys me and I considered disabling the extension, I remember I likely have better things to do that argue on the Internet.
