To Quote smoulder.

“ a decision has been made “

You will also find it soon enough .
I would think you have good chance . Only detracting point is International School but been Tamil would help.

Else you can always start your business anyway , hopefully employ Singaporean and apply again

Best of luck ! Keep the forum updated.
I agree, the result shouldn't take too much longer so no point worrying.

Well, then you'll need to mentally prepare yourself for an unfavorable result.

Hi all

Wanted to check if it’s standard Line in Pr approval letter ?

“ we are pleased to inform you that you and your family member(s) are eligible to apply for Singapore citizenship after 2 years of Pr in Singapore. “

Yes, most of them get this included in the welcome letter. Eligibility vs Approval are 2 different things.

Based on what I know, if you apply before 1 full REP renewal and quota is LOW for your ethnicity, chances are low.

Yea. Dont think it’s gonna be easy sailing. Pr wasn’t. Will play my toto .nothing drastic is gonna change in my profile in next 3-4 years except may be better salary and designation ( don’t think it matters much now )
Thinking is , 2 year wait to apply and then most likely 2 year wait for result, outcome will be around my REP renewal .

Personally, I don't see why people apply with very low chance of success / repeated applications (with minimal change). I understand that you may feel differently given your PR applications and eventual successful outcome. However, one could also hypothesize that absent a male offspring, the outcomes would have been the same. I.e. you could have applied only once (or perhaps twice) with the favourable attributes and that's what mattered (not repeated X% chance of success toto).

If you can remain employed and your kids attend a local school, I feel like you will have a good chance to eventually get it somewhere in the 5-10 year period (although we cannot know for sure). I suspected that you would reply with the above; apply after two years, wait a couple of years for decision, if rejected wait another year or so and then you are at the same 5 year mark, and that's not incorrect.

Anyways, everyone is free to do as they please (I also understand why some people are eager to convert ASAP). You may get lucky the first time around or it may just be clogging up the system and adding to everyone's wait time. Good luck.

Thanks both for your sharing your thoughts. NYY1, I agree with you about the 5-10 year period.

However, for our careers an overseas assignment would help in long term but we don’t want to jeopardise our REP at any cost.
Also policies are always fluid , countries are looking inwards . No good way to know how things will be in 10 years. If i Intend to take roots here, which I do , i should try and avoid six sigma events .

If your intention is mainly to work overseas other than SG, you are adding to few who basically use PR/SC in a wrong way.
