Yes they are the ones that are experimenting with 6" wide half stand-up bench type seats, so they can get you into a pitch of 20".

Ryanair are notorious for cost cutting on frills. The irony is you might indeed get a flight for a headline £10, but once you've paid all the additional fees to be inside the plane lol, to be allowed to take any luggage, to use a toilet, to pay for all of this ... odds on you'd simply be better off booking through a decent airline.
Ha this is why I only ever flew Tiger once. After being squeezed for half a dozen smaller fees, and then having to sit in the Budget Terminal for three hours with nothing to do, the extra $150 to fly on SQ was a no brainer.

i've been doing my online transactions with DBS Visa Debit Card

Image

very convenient card as it allows both VISA and NETS transactions. all I had to do is open a regular DBS account.

I've been living in Singapore for 2 years and never felt the need to get a credit card. the cash backs and rewards are not that enticing for me personally.

Good one Z! Now.... why would you be spending 3hrs in the Budget Terminal? :)

Until you want to make airplane reservations.
How so.

I booked flights either to or from Singapore in April with Tiger, PAL, and Silkair, all done on a debit card.
Via AXS station?

Debit cards, at least those with Mastercard or Visa logos, act just like credit cards from the point of view of the merchants.

Maybe you're not familiar, but debit cards work pretty much the same way like credit cards. You still have that 16 digit and CV code with expiry date and also under Visa/Mastercard/Amex etc.

The only difference is that you are paying directly using your own money directly instead of paying in credit. Something like pre-paid cards.

Debit cards usually face issues for things like car rentals though, but as others have pointed out, no issues for hotel or flight reservations.

Crappy rewards though. Not that credit card rewards are very meaningful either.

I arrived a bit early because I had planned to eat and relax a bit before my flight. I didn't know it wasn't easily connected to the rest of Changi. Nor did I know once i went through security that most of the food was pre-security. And then my flight was delayed... I actually normally enjoy relaxing in the airport. Of course, this is primarily Changi T3 and HKG where I do that. Not so much a fan of the rest of Changi now.

You can tell if it is a credit card or debit card by the BIN:

While they're supposed to function the same, some merchants can choose to treat them differently. I've primarily seen this to be the case when factored into risk rating systems, but then that was one of the products put out by a previous employer.

I mean, even without the credit card, for airplane reservations, I heard that you can pay via AXS station + ordinary debit card (not that debit mastercard / active card / multitude card from POSB).

I'm a little bit "allergic" with the "MasterCard" logo, so I don't apply for it. But if it helps for airplane reservations, I wonder if it's better to apply for the debit card from POSB, passion card, or the NTUC? Too many promotions from them :???:

You seem to do very well with 'I heard' form of information gathering in most of your posts... :P

FWIW, Jetstar allows you to pay for your flight via 7-11 or Singpost within 48 hours.

POSB is / was Master card

Fevo is / was Master Card

NTUC - well, the OCBC co-branded - it was Visa

I see.

Well, about the "I heard", it can't be helped. The landlord gives a lot of information which seems reliable
But even so, I need to double check everything :P
