Hi kind Singaporeans , my uncle is planning on opening a saloon school in Singapore and here are the questions.

1. Is it true that years back , Singapore government had a policy to subsidize variety of job trainings/courses and hairdressing was included ?

2. Is it true that the subsidy is still valid nowadays ?

3. Do you know any operating/active hairdressing school in Singapore ? Please tell me if you do.

Any comments and advices are greatly appreciated :)

Note : I am a Thai and have tried my best to search on different official websites. So far , I think the policy has never existed but I can't be too sure. I hope you can help me.

Thank you.

I went to Google and searched using the following terms:
'singapore hairdressing training subsidy'
You'll see for yourself that the results of that suggest there might be a subsidy.

Clues are:
http://www.ifaq.gov.sg/wda/apps/fcd_faqmain.aspx
https://www.skillsconnect.gov.sg/web/guest/courses
http://www.wda.gov.sg/content/wdawebsit ... dFund.html

I went from one to the next and next. To be honest the sites are not clear (to me), and I could have carried on digging. But hopefully that will give you enough to get going on and get an answer to your questions.

Have you noticed this is an expatriate board? Not many Singaporeans here.

Also, I suggest you consult with a small business attorney to get the best advice. Otherwise, as the PP indicated, you can find a lot from the government website.
