Furniture - Leather vs. Fabric Upholstery

Post by uscate » Sat, 14 Jul 2012 8:46 pm

Is this a matter of personal taste or practicality relative to mold, etc.??

Thanks for your feedback!

Personal Taste if you have aircon. If you don't, leather takes a beating here. Not so much with mold (that can be a problem though) but with deterioration of the leather itself due to sweat if you wear shorts and sit on them. They will darken and crack unless it very good leather and not that damn cheap bonded crap. I've had leather for nigh on 25 years without aircon (3rd set though and it's nearing it's EOL as well. I prefer leather though. As you said, personal preference.

Fabric better for sitting... leather and substitutes, too hot, too sticky.
