Hi
I'm considering relocating to Singapore with my husband and 2 small children!
My husband has a job so visas etc will not be an issue for us all, however, I'm trying to find a way for my parents to relocate over too. Does anyone have any advice on how I can arrange visas for them?! They are aged 59 & 60... My Dad is going to try and find work however I don't want them to have to worry about visas in the meantime. Also, is there an age limit on expats working?
Many thanks!!
Kels

Here is a starting point:

So relevant questions might be on what date you are moving and what visa is your husband on?
I am unaware of an age limit on employment passes, but do keep in mind that applications (which are made by employers after issuing a job offer) are considered in a holistic manner. So his age will count against your father but that might be compensated by him having very valuable specialist and in-demand skills. I wouldn't raise your hopes too high though, getting a job for anyone is hard enough, especially right now, but someone who is 59 - it is going to be very very tough.
Out of interest why do you wish your parents to move with you?

I have 2 small children and another due in November so really want them close as I'll need all the help I can get!! The UK is a very sad place to be at the moment so they are keen to relocate also. We have family in Manilla also so it would be good for us all to be close.
He has been self employed for 40 years and has invaluable experience in stainless steel, fabrication and design.
Thank you for your help

Oh I see, fair enough.
It goes back to the earlier question of pass-type and date. If you don't know the pass-type then advising the basic monthly pay in S$ should give a strong clue.
But as I read the new rules, unless you're all in the country by 1st Sep, what ever pass your husband is on the in-laws don't qualify for DPs. In that case it would be up to your father to qualify for an employment pass based upon his own merits.
p.s. Please do note that this is just my 2c worth, others will have differing perspectives and views.
