New to Singapore -looking for playgroup/mum's group Tampines

We have just relocated from Australia to Singapore and we are possibly moving to Tampines, any advice if it's a good suburb to live in ? Is there any expats mum living in there who may like to catch up for drinks etc in the future? I have a 6 month old son !!
