S pass and EP pass rejected. NEED HELP

Post by vanessamay » Sat, 30 Jun 2012 10:16 pm

Hi, i am seeking help, i got rejected twice for Spass and once for E pass.
I am a Thai, i studied english course and dip in singapore, MDIS. After reading so much in the forum , its seems very unlikely i will get approved because of my education level.

I was wondering is there any other way out of this ? or at least anything i can do to get my s pass or E pass approved ? Isit impossible for me to get a job without degree ?
If i take a degree in business at KAPLAN , would i be able to get a S pass ?
I also heard from the staff at KAPLAN saying that if i get rejected for S pass , there is a high chance my student pass would also be rejected, is that true ?

I think, if I were you, I'd beat feet back to Thailand as it doesn't look like it's going to happen for you here.

Doesn't sound good from your first post here. Just wondering, what are your qualifications for? And what kind of job were you applying S Pass and EP?

The reason I asked this is because if your qualification is on business/marketing/accounting and your applied jobs were also on these fields, the MOM is not interested to approve because these jobs can be easily filled by locals.

So if you're going for a degree, which degree would that be?

Both S pass rejected were for jobs regarding me to be able to speak thai ,
both big companies. Fedex and Booking.com but it seems the problem lies in me.. I took dip in Travel, tourism and hospitality.
Most recent E pass fail is a company doing electronics and IT , my job scope would be Corporate sales. The boss is currently helping me to reapply again.
Which degree would u advise me on getting ? i was considering something linked to business, as its very general and easier to suit sales jobs.
i am really confused and its really hard to get a job in singapore because of the Passes keep getting rejected ?
Could u advise me on what steps i should consider to take to secure a S pass for myself in the future ? ?
I do thank you for help :) much appreciated.

It sounds to me like the goal is to stay in Singapore by any means. I'm not sure if doing a degree to achieve that end is the right motive.

Just get a degree first, then try to find another job and try to apply an E or S pass again. It's good to have a degree anyway.

Do you have much Coprporate Sales Experience?

Having an extensive track record of performing the role you are applying for can be pretty important. If you can build your job experience while you do your studies your chances will improve.

A degree will not hurt however education is just one of the criteria that MOE base their decision on. Depending on the role, having education with little experience can get you no closer to acheiving a pass.

You will also want to identify how else you can differentiate yourself from the locally available talent pool, Thai language is a good start though.
