I think OP meant something like,
When OP stayed in a rented apartment, he/she didnt' like Singapore. But ever since he/she has gotten a his/her own place, it got better?
Still doesn't quite make sense, though

Must be one of those disgruntled tenants who had typical issues with local landlords...
I'd share the same sentiments too if I'm living with landlord from hell but hey, I have a good one here so no complaint
