Why yes or why not. Just curious as to what the experienced expat locals say.

There is no way I'd live stuck out there.

The impression I have (rightly or wrongly) is that it is 2nd home villas/condos for mega-rich foreign tax-exiles.

On-topic, yes, this. And retiree empty nesters, from another thread we had about this. Sentosa is very isolated and removed from the rest of Singapore. If you have a lot of money and want that kind of setting described by JR, you can probably get 5-10x as much for your money in half a dozen neighboring countries.

Still pining for 392 and Top-10. Sorry OT

Edit to add: Maybe that's the thing. It doesn't strike me as a place you'd live if you wished to be connected with normal daily life in Singapore.

Many thoughts and opinions have been expressed about (more like against) Sentosa Cove.

It's a personal choice, but I agree with the above, it's not THE place if you have any need to do anything in Singapore, it's very much a bubble within a bubble.

Call it snooty or bubble within bubble but I think it could be a nice break away from the city which can get overwhelming
