Hi Everyone,
I am moving condo's this weekend, and the new condo requires a security deposit of $500 to be paid prior to moving in (in case of damages to the facilities during the move I assume)...However, every removalist company i approach insists this fee is to be paid by the tenant, not the removalist company. Can anyone explain the logic of this to me? Why would the tenant pay a deposit for potential damages that would be caused by the removalist? Shouldn't the removalist pay this?
I assume i will end up having to pay this fee, hopefully there is a contract i will sign with the removalist to confirm they are in fact liable for all damages...just wanted to know if anyone has any experience with this situation
Cheers

Moving deposit charged by condo's
We just moved last month and used Shalom. Did you contact them? They paid the refundable deposits at both condos and took care of the necessary paper work at both ends. The only thing extra we paid was a fee for using the lift padding at the "to" condo. Give them a shout. We got quotes from a few Movers and Shalom were the most expensive. We still went with them as they came recommended by people at work who used them.
