Altering furniture

Hi, we just downsized from a 2400sf apt to a 1500sf apt, managed to fit in most things after ruthless culling, but the one problem is our L-shaped sofa , it's just too big for the living room. Any ideas on how to get the sofa downsized ? {edited by moderator}
