Butchery Courses in SG

Post by rawksteadi » Fri, 22 Jun 2012 3:42 am

Does anyone know if there's / will be a butchery course in SG? Nothing came up on google.

Any butchers out there willing to do a course? I'm sure people will be willing to pay $150 - 200/pax for this!

What are you planning on butchering?

More seriously though I have done Knife Skills courses at cook school and can't say I've heard of a butchery course. Given the time it takes to learn how to skin and fillet even a 'round' fish versus a flatfish I expect it would cost much more than $200! SG is hopeless for cook-schools, it really only has expensive and vapid classes for millionaire wives - or else - the full pro course.

Good luck finding one though. Maybe try Australia?

(My own school was ICE-NYC)

I think you're going to fall into something of a gulf here. Most punters in SG want to buy produce in little packets off refrigerated shelves, not butcher up whole pigs.

Sorry, was that negative? :)
