Hi

I am french and i will be coming to singapore soon.

I plan to use my own SIP number and sip provider to call/receive international.I will be using either a fixed phone (siemens c470 ip) that needs to be plugged into the router (or the box of the internet provider) or my iphone (i am using bria appli) either via wifi or 3g.

My questions:
1)do internet providers blocks SIP calls? is there any one for which we are sure sip calls are not blocked?

2)over 3g, are sip calls blocked?

Thanks for your help

Can't say for mobile phones. However, I have no problem using SIP services from my home fiber connection with Singtel.

1) No. I don't think it is legal for them to do that.

2) Again, no... while Singapore apparently won't give Skype in country numbers, they are pretty liberal about enforcing non restrictive data usage. For example, a phone sold in Singapore cannot be locked to a carrier.
