Things I will miss about Singapore

Post by poodlek » Sun, 17 Jun 2012 9:17 pm

1. Kopitiams! Cheap, tasty food without all the wasteful packaging that comes with fast food. Such a great on the go dining experience, beats the heck out of McD's or buying from street vendors in other cities.

2. Public transit. If Singaporeans had to ride the TTC once they would never again complain about service interruptions.

(there's more, this is just a starter to balance out my other thread)

2. The high security that Singapore offers which is unmatched by most of other countries?

Seriously, Singapore is the only place that I can walk around at 3am without getting mugged or sexually assaulted

Nothing like sweeping generalisations !
You can be a king or a street sweeper, but everyone gets to dance with the grim reaper.

Hahaha well I can't say that's ever been a problem for me in any big city in Canada...as long as I stick to well-lit/well-populated areas. But then cruising the streets at 3am hasn't been a big priority for me here either. I do like the fact that I don't have to worry about being pick pocketed/robbed most of the time in places like Starbucks or whatever. I've definitely let my guard down a bit since being here.

Being able to pay my taxi fare with a $20 NTUC voucher because I don't have any other cash! (other option was credit card)

Seriously! The variety of payment methods available for taxis is something else I have taken for granted. Back home it's cash or we drive around on the meter until we find an ATM.
