US Open Bummer

Post by Strong Eagle » Sun, 17 Jun 2012 10:56 am

I've got Starhub. I can't watch the US Open. Apparently, I cannot watch on mio TV without signing up for a 12 month contract with Singtel.

This is really crap... at the very least, such "on demand" shows should be available regardless of which TV provider one is using.

Proof that free enterprise does not always serve the customer.

Agreed. Especially in a limited market such as Singapore - it doesn't seem that 5m people is a large enough pool for an efficient competitive market.

You can subscribe to a number of sites to watch it over the internet. I'd just do it that way.

Agree with Carteki, it's a completely liberalised market... and yet there is few providers and little competition.

As well as paying a sub to watch it online, you can likely stream it online for free is you search long enough for a suitable site.
