Husband studying in Singapore

Post by swatideswal » Mon, 11 Jun 2012 2:46 am

Hi,

My husband would be studying in Singapore so i want to move there .Wanted to check
1) if i move on a DP then will i be able to work ?
2)Is it possible if i opt for some short term course and also work part time on student visa if i dont go on DP but on student visa?

I am looking for options to be with my husband and even use the time efficiently ,best if we can also help ourselves with some finances by working .

Please advise...

From what I know Student Pass cannot get a Dependant pass

You want to Earn while on Student Pass ?

Me thinks you mixed up the country

Better look for Oz or US

ps: fixed the shortened words

Did you write this in special code so that absolutely, as opposed to most people, would not understand it?

I think you can sometimes work on a student pass if you get employment through University. eg/ working as a research assistant or something. Otherwise could be very tough.

There is a mandatory 6 months to 1 year full time study before being allowed to switch to part time .. in any case, the person need to get a EP before going to work - that pertains to the student ...

BTW, since the question here is for the Wife to work, which, in my 2 cents, is NO NO !!! Not possible, since there is no DP for Student pass and case closed.

Does it mean if my husband is a student in Singapore i cannot work even if i am also pursuing some course there .

Also is it possible if i go on a DP visa of my husband who is a student himself and then study there or would i need only student visa for that ?

I can no way work it means ?

Cant i do things like taking language classes etc and make some earning out of them ?

Simple answer:

Student pass holders cannot get a DP for their spouse / family - so scratch that, in case you didn't figure it out.

If you come on your own student pass, then you are on your own. So your husbands Student pass has no relevance..

For doing stuff like 'make some earning out of them', unless your course allows,it is illegal -hence my suggestion that you should look to Australia, possibly, where you can earn-while-you-work
