Advice regarding reasonably priced pre-schools

Post by birdy99 » Sat, 09 Jun 2012 8:37 pm

I am moving to Singapore this summer with my five year old and will be looking for accommodation on the East Coast. I have looked at a couple of Pre-schools (Eton House, Rosemount) which seemed lovely but really expensive. Can anyone recommend a good, more reasonably priced Kindergarten/pre-school that offers school hour days (i.e 8.30-3pm ish) on the East Coast?
Thanks in advance.

NTUC (http://www.myfirstskool.com/) has pre-school branches all over the island and probably the lowest fees available.

Agree with beppi. My kids go to My First Skool and the prices are actually reasonable! :D

I pay just under $700 a month for full-day childcare for my twin daughters, though that's in part because I'm now a Singapore citizen (I married a local guy) so I'm entitled to a full government subsidy. However, another expat mum whom I spoke to once during the school's annual end-of-the-year concert told me that she pays approximately double what I pay, which is about $1,400 for two kids. But considering that's how much many of the 'fancier' preschools charge for just one kid, I consider my daughters' preschool a pretty good deal!

My daughter goes to Shaws @ Katong and I have only good things to say about the place
