The Harry Potter Exhibition - age suitability

Post by Dolph » Thu, 07 Jun 2012 12:21 pm

My 4.5-year-old is fascinated by Harry Potter but also finds the films scary. Does anyone know if the exhition currently in Singapore is suitable for a child that young? I looked at the tickets and found the price a bit steep. Hence my question. I don't fancy spending that much money only to find that he won't enjoy it.

Hello
We went to the HP expo I took my 2 girls age 6&10 we all loved it. It cost us $36 because we live here now. The girls didn't really like pulling out the Mandrakes those screaming plants but that's all you can touch some things, there's no picture taking while your inside.
It's only a small exhibition but loads of props,wands,costumes e.t.c .
The gift shop was pretty expensive. We were only in there for about 1 1/2 and we walked around slowly reading everything and let people go ahead of us. They also have different scenes too we enjoyed it :)

My husband, 1-year-old daughter, and I went in June and had a wonderful time. My daughter got a little scared at the beginning with the movie segment and sorting (people cheering at their friend being sorted set her off). She was clinging to me a lot but seemed to enjoy it nonetheless. She actually liked the mandrakes which surprised my husband and me.

The forbidden forest area does have ambient sounds that might would be scary for some younger children but it's not loud or startling.

Overall it is as the previous reply said an exhibition of the props and such, not a whole lot of hands on things. If your child likes balls they might enjoy the Quidditch bit.

Oh and my daughter enjoyed getting her picture taken at the beginning. We ended up purchasing that as our only souvenir. Most of the things in the shop are available elsewhere anyway.
