Financial advise sought on Credit Card and Personal Loans

Post by Nickys101 » Tue, 29 May 2012 7:35 pm

I lived in Singapore for 2 years (anticipated a permanent move) however my contract was terminated prematurely at the end of February due to a restructure in the organisation. I applied for several other opportunities in Singapore, but unfortunately to no avail. I have now accepted an offer back in my home country, but only to start in July. This has left me in a bit of a financial predicament and also having to pay for the cost of relocating myself. I currently have a credit card and personal loan with a bank in Singapore and want to know what my options are with repayments, my home country's exchange rate is really bad and I've taken a significant pay cut from where I was in Singapore. Any advice will be much appreciated. :-|

Your option is to pay it. Anything less is an illegal act. Budget carefully, send minimum payments.

I always advise my friends who in debt with bank -- credit card, to call the bank and explain your financial situation and you willing to pay - and request for the debt to be spread over few years like a fix installment, it will be cheaper as the interest rate is different, compare to pay the minimum amount every month (it will take years to settle the debt and the interest is super). For the personal loan, no choice but to keep pay the installment on time.
