UK Blackberry 8900 work in Singapore?

Post by kindred » Tue, 29 May 2012 6:58 pm

Hey,

Bit of a long shot, but does anyone know if my Blackberry 8900 I got here in the UK will work in Singapore? It will be properly unlocked by my company for me. I imagine calls will be fine, I just need to make sure data will work (GPRS?).

Thanks!

You'll just want a Blackberry plan. There are probably at least 10 posts about it in the past year in this sub-forum.

Not too fussed about the plan, it's whether the phone can technically connect to the 2G networks in Singapore, e.g. might be a different frequency or something.

iPhone is 3G and the Blackberry 8900 is 2G, so just wanted to double check.

Oh, yeah in that case you'll have no trouble.

You usually only have to worry about a few odd-ball North American models for anything pre-LTE.
