Helicopters today by East Coast?

Post by zzm9980 » Sun, 27 May 2012 4:09 pm

There are three black helicopters circling over the boats in the water and beach repeatedly right now, between roughly TG Katong and Still Rd. Seems a little early and too far for National Day practice.

Anyone happen to have been by the beach today and see anything going on? One is a Chinook, but the other two are smaller. Probably too small to be Blackhawks.

There is an Army Open house at the F1 pit today and there are helicopters and tanks there - maybe the helicopters you saw were making their way there?

Was at the open day yesterday..... two Apaches and a Chinook should have been taking part in the show just after 4pm.

I was walking down Bkt Timah at 3:40pm and they were on the way down from the base then.

That must have been it. They looked smaller than Blackhawks, but what do I know.

They circled for about 15 minute, and vanished right around 4pm. I guess that was a hold pattern. I was hoping for something exciting like a hijacked tanker drama outside my window :)

A friend did say he spotted Super Pumas, which are larger than Blackhawks anyway ..

if you say they simulated a tanker rescue, SAF uses Puma for such op .. for obvious reasons !!!!!!

Moi was out of town !!!
