Public school for a 5 year old child

i have moved to Singapore this week, i am in the process of moving into an apartment in district 21. I have a son who is 7 yr old in November. I am wondering if public schooling is as good as private schooling. Any thoughts would be welcome.

I would suggest you do a thorough search of this forum just to see what that entails. The costs of public vrs private schooling and the ability to even get into a public (government) school.
