hi there, hair loss are usually due to stress, too high intake of salt n mostly lack of essential nutrients in our body that aims to promote hair growth. Thus to solve hair loss problem the best solution is thru ensure u obtain good nutrients in ur body so that u gets enough Vitamins like A, B, E omega 3, EPA etc that are usually the nutrients needed to stimulate hair growth. email me at [email protected] if u need more details.

Supplementation is a good choice, make sure u get your optimum amount each day... check out the US FDA website for a comprehensive list of nutrients u need

u can also help prevent hair loss by using shampoos and treatments that will forify your hair roots so that less hair will drop out and also more will grow... my fren used nutriol shampoo and treatments ... it stimulates the hair follicles to grow... and nourishes the hair

I think normally woman like to go to salon for hair styling, rebonding, dyeing, etc. Some of these products are not very healthy to the scalp. It all depend on how healthy your scalp is, avoid using fingernails to scratch the scalp as it will damage the skin tissues.
Products like hair spray, gel, etc, it is good to take note of those as well. Just like what the previous forumer said, diet is also important, less MSG. And last of all environment play a part as well, if you are in a dusty and polluted environment, your skin and scalp will not be able to function efficiently.
Juz my 2 cents. :D

i've tried this prodt called BIOLYN - it worked right away for my dandruff which i've been tackling for 15yrs! tried all kinds of shampoos to no avail so this one's a keeper. liked it so much i recommended it to my sis when she lost a ton of hair from pregnancy twice over. she tried so many expensive prodts for yrs but they didnt help much. she's been using biolyn now for abt half a yr and her hair has returned! her balding hubby's also using it but i dunno if it has worked on him.

it costs abt $68 at sm TCM shop but i dunno wat its called. i get mine from a shop @ queensway (sports shop/tennis racquet restringing place - 2nd flr) at a discount! get the serum (1 squirt mixed in yr shampoo - 1 bottle wil last more than half yr!) - they now make shampoos but i havnt tried it. serum smells a lil foul so my shampoo helps disguise the pong :)

Will nutrients help? I've consulted doctor from National Skin Centre and they had tested my blood to see if i lack of any vitamins. And they concluded that my hair loss is due to more male hormones than female hormones. Wat is the cure?

I've also seen a website that claims that laser comb will combat this problem. Has anyone tried?

There are a few things you need to look out for to prevent further hair loss:

1. Diet - take less salty food, less MSG, opt for blender food.
2. Use a suitable shampoo, one that is comfortable for your hair ie: you can try the latest Pantene hair loss shampoo, i've tried it a few times and it seems I have less hair lost! So find something that suits you.
3. Use a non-static comb ie: Wooden combs are the best, many people underplay its importance, as right ones reduce static to hair. Avoid plastic combs, go to Body shop, there are a few choices of wooden combs.
4. Use a suitable hair tonic - perhaps you can try out kaminoto hair growth accelerator, it helps hair growth.

Hope this helps. 8-)

Wow, many has contribute lots good information. I am adding mine too:

Hair Loss due to many factors.
1)Emotional--stress, hormone imbalance, anger
2)Physical--family inheritage, DNA factor, oilly hair naturally
3)Environment--dust, side effect of advance high technology??
4)Diet--food intake and excercise.
5) Some are inter-related to some of the above.

1) Emotional is hard to handle unless you find a way to control--try to stay calm at all time, meditate, excercise, drink some chamomile tea (calming effects), use aromatherapy(Lavendar Essential oil has calming effects)

2) Can't help much in physical problem. Oily hair tend to drop easily because hair poles are blocked easily, then mild shampoo (chemical free, can get it from health food store) should be used daily. Hair with dandruff tend to drop hair too because the scalp is weak and it could be due to scalp desease. (you may need to use medicated one). Brush your hair with natural brush (wood or bristle), or apply virgin coconut oil once or twice a week when massage your scalp.

3) We don't seem to have much control over environment.

4) The most factor you have the most control. Apart from good diet, try to intake some food that is high in zinc (nuts are generally higher in zinc), eat healthy whole food, avoid junk. Excersice helps to balance our mind and our body cell and increase cirulation.
