mechanical engineer job

Post by hanabie » Mon, 21 May 2012 8:33 am

Hello all,

I'm really interested in working in Singapore. I do not really care how much they will pay me at this moment as long as I get something to learn.
As a foreigner, I would like to know where I should begin the job search.

I'm a mechanical engineer graduate from a reputable university in US. I'm currently working in US, but I decide to move back because of my family.

Please any word or advice that I could get from here... I really appreciate that..

I know it's tough at this moment, but I really need an opportunity. A guide..

Thanks in advance :) :) :)

I assume that you are local based on your post. Being a local, you should be able to stand a very good chance getting a job in engineering field here (since the government is prioritising locals over foreigners in this). Plus if you're coming from a reputable university as you mentioned, then you should be able to command a better package.

Welcome back.

I don't think he is a local at all. I think maybe his parents are here on either EPs or are PRs. If this is the case, he will have to have at least a couple of years experience relevant to his degree to be able to even stand a chance. Again, don't know if he was a PR here or not. If he was, did he do his NS? If he was here on a DP then he will have to qualify and be subject to the same restriction as all foreigners are currently.
