my question might sound a little bit stupid but I really need your help! I will start an internship in Singapore in about 2 months and it will be in a European company. Right now I am woundering about the dress code....is it the same as in Europe or a little bit more casual because of the heat???
I don't want to make a wrong impression on my first day!
I'm not sure which industry your internship will be but I will assume that your internship requires you to be in regular office wear.
The humidity will be your concern. Yet your office will be air-conditioned (sometimes to Siberian temperature). So bear these two factors in mind.
Having said that, you can wear collared blouse (long, short or medium-sleeved) made of light and airy material so that your commute in and out of office/house will be bearable. You may wear a blazer for important office events like presentations etc but it must be single-lined and you can only wear it indoors.
Skirts and pants are common but you can only wear single-lined, otherwise it will be too hot for you. Length-wise ideally the skirt should be around knee length (although you will notice some silly girls wearing way sexier than that - but those are usually admin girls so do not bother about that).
Out of work, you can wear what you would in summer or tropical area.
are you still doing your internship there? Could the company by any chance be UBS? I've got the same question as you, about clothes, and found this thread.
