Hi All - I've also only recently moved here and living in Dhoby Ghaut with my gf. Def up for coffee/drinks or even a game of squash.

My work usually means that I'm out of town for a week or two, but then find myself with lots of spare time during the day when I'm back in the city.

If nothing is organised, and nobody ever organises anything, who is going to invite you to that nothing?

Actually I rather curious. You see zillions of 'Hi, I've just arrived blah blah, hit me @ blah' posts and maybe 0.01% 'I'm organising this, at x date, on y day, at Z venue. Come along'.

Do the people expecting others to do the work and invite them out, ever end up going out?

True Guv...but I've had my share, at least I've met 3 different thread meetings, which actually led to subsequent hang outs, so I'm not losing my hope yet...although, the previous threads that I met the people with, have drowned, we just make our own group outside of the forum, either FB or just e-mail list...

It's good to hear that something can come of it. I was genuinely curious!

I've met quite a lot of people through the expat forum already and I tend to organise events/gatherings on the weekends for various groups and such, mainly in bars, restaurants, clubbing, movies, and other activities (a BBQ has been on the cards for a while now but the weather keeps playing up!) and we tend to try new places each time.
