SVP extension rejected

Post by Cereal868 » Wed, 16 May 2012 10:10 pm

My background

Jul 06- aug 10 undegrad in SIM. Graduated with a London degree(2nd lower class) through distance learning at SIM.
Oc 10- Jan 11 working at an audit firm in Singapore (with EP)
Mar 11- mar 12 on long term visit pass

Right after LTVP expired, ica issued me short term pass with 30 days. 1 week before SVP expired i applied for extension through e extend and it was rejected.

I'm a Malaysian and I am going to enroll myself into ACCA with Kaplan in Singapore. Class will commence this July.

Somebody please advise me what to do. I have been here for so long and my root is already here in Singapore. My sister is working here my best friends buddies and all are here in Singapore. I don't know what to do if I can't live in Singapore anymore.

My STVP expired on 14 may. I left Singapore for Thailand for a 1 week holiday 1 day beforE expiry date. Will I get 30 days if I come back to Singapore this Saturday? Will I be sent back to Malaysia from changi airport if STVP is not granted at the airport's checkpoint?

I'm worrying sick now after reading topics about passes rejection...

If you have been gone a week and you are coming back here on a normal social visit pass via the airport you shouldn't have any problem.

i was given only 1 day short term pass when i entered singapore through changi airport on saturday. the officers at the airport asked me to go down to ICA at lavendar to extend my stay. unfortunately the officer at ICA only granted me 1 week extension. with each day of extension im taking a penalty of 3 days. that means i will not be able to enter singapore for 51 days (30 days+ penalty of 21 days). that's a sad thing cause ive been here for 6 years+ and this is where i calll home. it looks like singapore doesnt want me here anymore.

Wow, that's interesting that they detailed out the "penalty" days. Did they give that to you in writing by any chance?

Rest of the situation does suck :( Did you do anything wrong on your last stay? What about the person who sponsored your LTVP? How did you get the LTVP, anyway?

Too bad ICA doesn't look at your sentiments (Singapore being your home, sister/best buds here, 6+ years already, etc) when it comes to passes.

But you're going to study right? Shouldn't you get student pass for your ACCA in Kaplan?

If you are penalised for 51 days, you have half of May and June to make up for it. Anyway your student pass should solve your problem for you.

yeah im going to study acca with kaplan.

i will only be able to enter singapore after 51 days or approval of student pass whichever is earlier.

the officer told me about the penalty when i applied for extension on saturday morning. she said that its all in the website...

i got the LTVP under EPEC. so no sponsor.

my record is clean during my 6year stay in Singapore. my school attendance was great (>90%).

now i just keep my fingers crossed that my student pass application will be approved...
