Cafe or Coffee shop with decent wifi?!

Post by zzm9980 » Wed, 16 May 2012 9:06 pm

Hi,

First world problems here... I'm having a real pain finding any coffee shop or cafe on this island that I can do work from. The only requirements? Indoor tables and wifi that works for more than five minutes. Does anyone have any suggestions, preferably in the East or Central area?

Orchard Central but that's Wireless@SG. Not too many people go there so you can connect easily with decent-ish speed. Pick a cafe within the mall.

So my only additions are to say "I hate Wireless@sg". I was going to Big Splash Starbucks, and thought it actually had decent wifi, but then it decided to completely die on my about an hour in. Useless. :(

I've noticed Wheelock Place Starbucks actually has their own "Starbucks Wifi". I used this for about 90 minutes yesterday. It was rock solid and fast. Not a bad option when I have a taste for a crappy Kebab at Shirraz :)

Norin, I'll put that place on my list to try. But is the coffee any good? Or their French Toast? :) (priorities!)

Haato ice-cream place at Clarke Quay has it's own wifi connection. They serve all sorts of coffees too.

Is it actually a decent enough environment to sit and work at though?

I think Haato is outside only, not sure, but Book Cafe is indoor / outdoor, and they have sofas and tables.
