Duh

What do you think these passes are for anyway? Locals? Of course they are all from foreign nationality.
Perhaps pau_p1 wanted to ask if the downgrade is only for EP holders with specific nationality (which I don't think so)
thanks v4jr4 for intellectually understanding my question...

yup... i'm wondering.. if all nationalities are affected or just specific groups are being rejected...

v4jr4, I believe, by our responses, you can be sure that we are all replying a bit tongue-in-cheek. We know what the poster was trying to say without saying it. ](*,)

sorry.. if it my question might sounded racist.. but it was never my intention.. i just wanted to know since I only hear these rejections happening to our friends.. I'm Filipino and I only hear these stories happening to a lot of Filipino professionals.. so I'm wondering if other foreign talents are also affected...

Appeal of E/SPass

Post by elnata » Fri, 24 Aug 2012 6:47 pm

Hi All,

I just would like to share my experience right now. I was employed under Q1 in Company A and i resigned from the office and my EP was cancelled 01 Aug 2012.

Now, I already found new job in Company B, with slightly higher salary compared to previous company A, and still in the same field of work. The company applied new application of E/S Pass, but it was rejected within 1 day.

Company B told me, they would like to help appeal E/S Pass for me. But I only expect the SPass to be approved is enough, not necessarily to be EP (Q1).

I would like to ask, it is possible for me to get SPass appealed to be approved, since it is downgrade of the pass from previous EP to SPass in the new application (not renewal of the old pass).

And if the company appealed for me on 13 August 12, do u think we can check the status of the appeal now (either online or call MOM?). If yes, how soon we can check it and through online or calling MOM ? ie: can we check on 14 August (only 1 day after the appealed made by online?) OR, do we need to wait for 7 working days after the appeal was submitted online?
Because I called MOM yesterday (yesterday is 7th working days after 13 Aug), they said there was no record for pending appeal for me from the company.

Now i am just curious, is it really necessary for us to wait longer for MOM System to update it, hence the officer can tell us through call the hotline?)

Anyone have the same experience before? Any feedback or suggestion will be highly appreciated. :)

Thanks!!

On the rejected EP application, did you or the company tick the box asking to be considered for S-Pass if EP isn't possible?
If yes, the rejection you got was for both EP and S-Pass.
If not (i.e. if you declared you're not interested in S-Pass), you cannot change your mind and afterwards apply for an S-Pass for the same position.

The information you get from MoM is usually accurate. If they tell you there is no appeal pending then your company probably didn't submit one.

Just do a quick research on some other threads in this forum, and you'll understand why.
