PEP to EP.. relatively easy?

Post by macaroonie » Sun, 13 May 2012 10:10 pm

For all those who were on a PEP and then re-applied for an ordinary EP, was the transition and approval relatively easy? Are the odds of approval high or is the approval really like a brand new approval? Does the company need to apply for the EP or does the individual do it? Many thanks!

The employer has to apply for it. We've not seen any attempts as of yet as it's only 5 years since the PEP programme was started (Jan 2007). So it will be interesting to find out. I'm assuming it may be of some difficulty as when the PEP first came out is was supposed to be a stepping stone to PR, not as a 5 year uninterrupted visa that you could job hop with. Keep us posted as to whether it is easy or not.

I can't type as fast as I think. I was thinking when I was typing "it only been 5 years & 5 months since it started"

Thanks.

Just found out that a mate of mine who's PEP 5 year is nearly up has successfully been granted an EP with very little difficulty.

Saint, what was your friend's ethnicity? So far we only have Caucasians. Anybody know of others who have successfully made the reverse transition successfully?

This is starting to get interesting. Anybody out there who knows of anybody of any other ethnicity who has made the trek back with no problems?
