LOC - Foreign Employer

I'm having some trouble trying to figure out the solution to this problem:

If you hold a dependant's pass and receive an offer from an employer to do short term/contract type work while residing in Singapore what type of visa do you need? Background info: Employer does not have an office here in Singapore, and essentially the work is being done from home for an employer overseas.

I've been told an LOC is ok with the foreign company's information. Has anyone had any experience with this (approvals/rejections)?
Thanks!

Not possible, needs to be a Singapore registered company with a UEN and ACRA Registration Number.

I'm in the same situation where I'll be coming in on DP and would like to freelance for a foreign company. What is the easiest way to get a work visa for this situation?
