From Malaysia to Thailand by road

Post by IOP » Wed, 09 May 2012 2:32 pm

Guys,

Do you know if I enter Thailand from Malaysia by road, will they be able to issue me Visa on Arrival at Immigration checkpoint, i.e. do they issue this type of visas there?

My bad. I misread your post.

Only two checkpoints issue VOA on Malaysia-Thailand border: Pengkalan Hulu and Bukit Kayu Hitam. I don't think Rantau Panjang checkpoints can do VOA.

You may want to check this out directly with the Thai embassy as apparently there were some changes recently (?) to the VOA scheme. We went to Phuket end of March and despite of the information on the go.th immigration pages that we still need visa (VOA in our case) we did not need visa any longer.
