LOC approved, offer letter but no joining

Post by Asmita24 » Tue, 08 May 2012 10:14 am

Hello All,

I came here on DP. Gave interview in a company where I got selected had LOC granted, I have signed offer letter 2 months back. But till date employer is not giving me job saying project has not kicked off yet.

I find employers very unprofessional in Singapore. The worst part is the very first question they ask is

"Are you ready to give extra time, are you ready to come on weekends?"
I dont know why the want to make their employees work extra always?

Try applying for work via international MNCs, not local Singapore companies. It is relatively better.

not true.

I come across a BIG USA MNC, the director ask "are you fine to come back on weekend and work late?"

I said 'relatively' for a reason ;) They won't be better every time, but from the experiences on this board and what I've seen, there are less antics.

I don't understand it at all. In my husband's company there is an requirement for 2 resources but they are not willing to get another and result my husband has to work late till 11 pm and even go office on sundays/saturdays.

I guess they have no HRs and know nothing abt how to treat employees and respect their personal life.

I am only 2 years exp,but my previous company(French company in India) was quite different. We work only in office timing and have lots of get together activities, office was great and I loved it :)

I echo with zzm's comment on MNCs. Like you said it yourself, MNCs are LESS likely to screw the employees up.
