Turntables, mixer, speakers from the US?

Post by jaisn » Mon, 07 May 2012 1:46 am

Curious if anyone has any insight regarding bringing turntables (Technics 1200to Singapore and using them with a converter. I've read on another thread here that the difference between 50hz (SG) and 60hz (US) might cause them to run at a different speed, making them completely useless.

My set up includes a receiver, powered subwoofer (700 watts), and mixer too. That's 5 pieces of equipment that needs to be plugged in and of course every single item would need a converter.

I'm leaning towards buying converters for it all as it would be a fraction of the cost of replacement.

Does anyone have any experience with these items?

Thanks!

You will not be happy with transformers. And, electric motors will run slower because of 50 Hz electricity.
