Where to get Bath rugs?

Post by gmp81 » Wed, 02 May 2012 8:56 pm

We just moved here from the US and sorely miss our bath rugs! Looking for the thick plush kinds you can find in Bed Bath & Beyond..sorta like these:

http://www.bedbathandbeyond.com/product ... 68&RN=1078&

They are about an inch thick with rubber backing.

Any idea where we can find them?

Ive already looked in Ikea.

Thanks!!

Buy online and most companies would post to Singapore. Thats what I do but I came from the UK so I use companies I used back then.

I'm sure I've seen some nice ones in one of the department stores like Robinsons, Isetan or Tangs.

I really wouldn't know. I don't even know where it is for sure. Just heard it mentioned here a couple of times. :-|

Level 4, Plaza Singapura

It is like a hardware store but 'child friendly' (it even has tables and benches for you to sit down and work your handicraft using the items you just purchased). It has everything from a range of textiles, wooden items, paper and handicraft materials, electrical parts, decorative junks and, yes, rugs and towels. But I doubt that it has the type that OP's looking for.

To answer OP's question, you can try Isetan and Tang's. I saw these in shelves not long ago.

Oh is that place called Spotlight? It has a good haberdashery. I went there once to buy a single button (and found it)!

To OP, make sure your bathroom has good ventilation as wet floor mats/towels are at risk of going mangy/stinky very quickly indeed.

There was a small bath shop in Paragon that sold really nice thick ones about 1.8 m long. (not sure if its still there) or just go to a 5 star hotel and ask house keeping to sell you the ones they use, if I remember the ritz carlton has nice ones. It also works out cheaper as they buy in bulk. If your initials are the same as the hotel you can have a free monogrammed bath rug!

It feels a little different now that the Ape Trio (JR8, carteki and QRM) is no longer a trio :P

Plus budget in sending them out for commercial washing once a week, domestic machines cant deal with the big rubber backed ones.
