Hi
My wife and I have been in Hong Kong for 18 months and are now contemplating a move to Singapore with our 8 months old girl.
We have been advised that districts 9 and 1 would be best as we want to be able to take our daughter outside for walks in parks etc, but close to my work in Raffles Place. Would also like to be within walking distance of supermarket and other shops. Budget is 8-10k.
Any thoughts on these areas or other suggestions on locations for a young family would be greatly appreciated.
Also any suggestions on mothers groups etc would be great.
Thanks

I'd check out the Robertson Quay area, just down the river from Raffles Place and great for just stepping outside and going for long walks, etc. - overall it's a nice lifestyle by the river and lots of things to do, many kids around here too.
Basically you could walk to work without having to deal with any traffic/lights, and likewise the same applies to heading out with the family as well.
From what you have written it would be my #1 choice.

Thanks very much for the response. Will certainly check it out.
If there is anyone with young kids living in Robertson Quay or Marina Bay would be great to hear how you have found it.
Thanks again

I'd recommend against Sentosa. Extremely inconvenient to pretty much everywhere.
