Extension of visit pass' problem

Post by sandqiu » Thu, 26 Apr 2012 11:31 pm

I am trying to extend my visit pass up to 89 days tomorrow,
let's say it is approved.
I want to look for job in Singapore, the question is when I'm on the extension period of visit pass, can I apply for, say an S pass or Employment pass ?
I'm a bit concerned it might get rejected because of the visit pass extension.

Thank you in advance for your kind replies

Can't see it makes any difference.

And anyway, it's the employer that applies for the pass on your behalf and not the individual.

Like what JR8, it won't matter. As long as you don't do visa run, you will be alright.

Work pass application can still proceed as normal (but anyway it will be your employer who will be applying, not you).

umm Thanks for the reply, but what do u mean by don't do visa run, it's the only thing I can do to stay in singapore while looking for a job, can u suggest what should I do to avoid being blacklisted or rejected when applying for a pass (assuming I found a job?)

When one does a visa run, he will step out of the country to a neighbouring country repeating to reset the amount of days given in SVP. This is a huge no-no and ICA will catch the pattern sooner and deport you sooner than you can say "Singapore".
