Sentosa

Post by clong » Mon, 16 Apr 2012 4:53 pm

Hi
Heard that living on Sentosa is inconvenient. I like the idea of the sea view etc but need to be practical. I have a son at school on Tanglin and both myself and husband will travel to work in CBD. Appreciate the experience of others. Thx.

In the upper right hand corner there is a white box with multiple options, click the "Search" one and search for 'Sentosa'. There's been dozens and dozens of posts about this exact topic in the past 3-6 months. Sentosa hasn't moved any closer to CBD, so they're all still accurate.

Haha I like that one! :D

Anyway to answer OP's question, it is not practical. Period.

I do not live there but I've been around Sentosa frequent enough to know the ins and outs. Travelling to Tanglin from Sentosa will be a nightmare. Telok Belangah Road. AYE, Lower Delta Road and Alexandra Road (assuming that you will take those roads to head there) will be super jammed during peak hour in both directions (to be honest, I do not know if your son's school provides transport). To CBD? Let's just say travelling to Sentosa Gateway is already quite a hassle, let alone the rest of the route.

You will be staying in a bubble if you choose Sentosa unless you really want that expensive exclusivity.

For further discussion (and also other suggestions for better and more practical accommodation with sea view), just use the search function for similar threads posted by many others before you.

Live in Holland Village, it's really close to the school and easy to get to the CBD by taxi/car and the trains aren't too bad now either with the new MRT station in Holland Village.

Probably cost you less too!
