I cannot believe the press saying this condo sold so many..bla bla....we all know they are not sold, just deposits paid by greedy locals who then will try and sell before they need to get a mortgage...thus leaving half the place empty.....

The press writes it...the locals believe it....

and 83% were purchased by locals who were willing to pay the jacked up psf prices. What's that say about PR's jacking up the property market? BS

Yes....not really purchased, just some small deposit paid on the hope they can make some more money with which they can provide their women with designer handbags to keep them happy.....
It is not until you really get in with locals that you see how money and materialistic driven they really are.....money before everything....even the education push is about getting more money at the end of it....not about the best for the child.....quite sad really....

Irony is they blame PR's and foreigners and without them the whole country would just cave in on itself.....

I can see where you are coming from but technically paying a depo on a yet to be built unit is buying it, because you are on the hook for the entire purchase price. Same reason you have the right to sell it on.

Not saying I agree etc...

p.s. I actually think SG thrives on ever increasing property prices. I'm not saying it engineers it that way but nothing it has done seems to have stopped it. I wonder if it is the 'bread and circuses' to keep the majority passive and uncomplaining.
