2 kids, money no object, where should I live in Singapore?

Post by Pandacat » Mon, 16 Apr 2012 2:07 am

We were going to go to Sentosa but were told it was too far out of the way of schools for our 3 year old (eldest). One chap told me we should live 'near the park' but when I searched later there seem to be a lot of parks.

We'd prefer a house to an apartment. Our youngest is 15 months and we would like a garden for her and her big sis to run around in.

Any advice greatly appreciated! :D

If money no object then maybe the school can move in closer?

For that matter, if money is no object, I could think of a lot of other places I'd rather be than Singapore...... :oops!:

You know where the airport is if you don't want to be here SMS :P although, I suspect money isn't as readily available as the OP ;)

Depends where the schools are honestly. Lots of nice "money is no object" houses in the rough vicinity around the US and British Embassies. Also, a bit north and east of Holland Village. Actually, search for the Vietnamese Embassy. The street it is on (and very close) are loaded with houses that look too upmarket for Malibu or Beverley Hills. Those are just starting points really. You can find nice houses everywhere in Singapore. The major differentiator is how many old run down ones are on the same block.

Kids that young move to a decent family condo with all the facilities...your kids will love it , meet lots of other kids. If you are working your wife will meet lots of other mothers.
We just moved from a 5 bedroom , 5000sq ft house in West Sussex to a 1800 sq ft condo on the East coast......my kids are in heaven , loads of friends , swim every day , next to East coast Park and very social.

Thats my opinion anyway.........everyone will have theirs

Pandacat,

We are moving to Singapore and I have a 6 month old and a 5 year old. Are you going with a house or a condo? Do the houses have pools or is that asking too much?

We currently have a 5000sq ft house and while I would love living the condo life we have two dogs and I don't know if that is acceptable and also if there is enough room for everyone!

We are going to visit soon but right now I'm overwhelmed!
