Importing Yacht

Postby ksl » Sun, 15 Apr 2012 1:49 am

Anyone know the procedures off hand for bringing a yacht in? Also other fees involved too. I'm looking at bringing a Colvic Seamaster 816 27ft footer 5 birth back from UK with the Skipper. it is from 1980 which worries me a little, as Singapore may have regulations on age of imports. I think there maybe a 20% import tax too though I've not yet enquired, rather have some first hand knowledge first.

Right hand drive, not more than 3 years old, pass emissions inspection... kidding... an interesting question.

Scroll down the page to Post #4.

According to the Moderator there, there is no Import Duty or GST on imported boats.

I reckon that forum will have most all the answer you could want regarding boat ownership here in Singapore or anywhere else for that matter.

Good luck.
