Can I bring canned food in my checked luggage from SG to CN

Post by Northkay » Sat, 14 Apr 2012 2:00 pm

Hey people.

I tried calling the staff at changi airport regarding this matter but she told me she has no idea and redirected me to the website of china custom and ask me to search myself.
I can't read chinese well and the translation makes everything retarded.

So can I pack canned foods like canned tuna, canned beans from Singapore and put it in my checked luggage and bring it to China?
Will the custom at China take it away?

Thanks!!

Reasonable quantities should be OK, but there's never a guarantee that customs won't confiscate it.

If the food item is not made in countries suffering from epidemic etc, it should be okay as long as it is in reasonable amount (anything ridiculously more will have to be taxed)

I know, none of these are from the official Chinese customs website :P
