Please Help me With Biking in Singapore

Post by a_Biker » Thu, 12 Apr 2012 3:27 am

Hi Guys,

I am shifting to Singapore in next month, Could you please help me with the below questions related to Biking in Singapore !!!

Q.1) I understood that I can convert my Indian Licence to SG 2b licence, Now I have riding experience of about 1 year in the UK and 5 Years in India. And I do have a proof to show That I have been using a 225cc Bike in India for last 3 years. Is there a chance of me getting a 2A on the TP counter.. If I go with all relevant documents showing my previous ownership ?? Should I try IT ??

Q.2) What all other charges or cost I may need to take care of except petrol(Gas), Bike Maintenance ?? Like Parking, HDB parking, or travelling on some road/ Charges I am unaware of ???

Q.3) Can I buy/ride a 250cc Bike on my Indian licence and then convert to SG 2A after an year ???

Q.4) What is the average monthly cost of using bike if I use it from/to office including parking and other hidden charges which I may unaware of ???

Q.5) Can I get a good bike for say around 2500$ or may till 4000$ If I can get a loan on used bike for remaining top up ??

Please help me understand the biking scenario in Singapore...As I have been a riding bike for last so many years and have always preferred bike for local transportation !!!!

Please give in your valuable feedback !!!

Awaiting your reply.

Many Thanks,
