PR related query for US citizen

Post by gauri2512 » Tue, 10 Apr 2012 7:36 pm

Hi, My husband and I have been living in Sg for the past 3 years. My husband has an Indian passport while my son and I have US passports.
We want to apply for PR now since Sg is where we wish to permanently settle down in.
We are reluctant to apply for PR for our son as we want him to decide after high school what he'd like to do (NS, serve US army or go directly to college- his decision).
Is it alright to apply for PR only for my husband and myself?
Are there any other parents in a similar situation?

Any responses or advice much appreciated.

Instant rejection. Besides not being the flavour of the month, not including your male child send up a huge red flag. The government isn't stupid but you seem to think they are. Don't even bother. Actually, do apply, they need a laugh. They will send you a letter asking why you did not include your son on the application. When you tell them, they'll have a good laugh before stamping the application "REJECTED".

Don't you people even bother to do any research on this site before you post these type of questions?

ICA will perceive that you want all the benefits of PR, with none of the NS obligations on your son.

ICA have seen it 10,000 before, and it is a non-starter.
