Which luxury watch to buy?
Which luxury watch to buy?
Dear all,
I'm quite new to this forum and would like to get advice on where to get luxury items in singapore?
I'm looking for a nice watch for my boyfriend who's Swiss born and naturally likes Swiss-made products. But he also has a rather unhealthy lifestyle and I've heard of a watch brand named Philip Stein which claims to be good for your health.
Anyone can help me? I've only managed to find out some information but the main website is not very updated!
Anything on Philip Stein for Singapore?
Would love the help! Thank you!

philip stein is not really a luxury watch brand and they are quite expensive in Singapore (I brought one as a gift from st Thomas last year for less than half the price here).
That said, for luxury watches Singapore is one of the cheapest places in the world to buy.
A watch that is good for health? is it brought from Watsons next to all the slimming pills endorsed by skinny models?
Perhaps it would be best that you post your budget, and then people could suggest something.

There are very few luxury watch brands that are Swiss-made. I would recommend either Fossil or Rolex. They are more sophisticated and classy, which will be suitable for your boyfriend

Don't know about Fossil watches, but Rolex watches are definitely NOT good for your health. They can actually cause death if not careful, especially if you wear them at night in places like Manila, Jakarta, Bangkok, etc., etc......justlanded32 wrote:I have nv heard that wearing a watch can be good for your health!redrust wrote:Dear all,

Fossil and Rolex, what unlikely bedfellows! Fossil a low-end clothing brand, and Rolex a vulgar brand (in most instances) for people who need to demonstrate to strangers that they are successful enough to pay thousands for a mere watch.

No joke about Fossil. A watch can cost close to a thousand bucks!JR8 wrote:justlanded32 wrote: There are very few luxury watch brands that are Swiss-made. I would recommend either Fossil or Rolex. They are more sophisticated and classy, which will be suitable for your boyfriend

What, from Fossil? Er, who would pay that?the lynx wrote: No joke about Fossil. A watch can cost close to a thousand bucks!

Don't get me wrong, I'm not against paying for quality, just I don't perceive buying a watch from a clothing manufacturer as quality (or Victorinox, or Mont Blanc, etc etc etc). They are fashion goods manufacturers, who are simply trading on their name (i.e. stamping their brand name on a $2 piece of tat from China, and selling it for $250).
