No Barcode on Approval Letter

Post by ronit_rox » Mon, 09 Apr 2012 11:43 pm

Hello Everyone,

I will be arriving in SG soon, and have received the in-principal approval letter as well.

On the letter it asks me to 'scan the barcode at kiosk' at the ICA, however, there is no barcode that i can scan, it is just a number and an applicant ID below which it says 'scan this barcode'.

Is this normal, if not then how can i get a queue no. with this letter at the kiosk in ICA.

Thanks.

What is the in-principal approval letter for? I mean is it for a visit pass, PR, or what?

You can probably just go to the information desk when you arrive at the ICA and they will tell you what to do...

HOWEVER...

Does your letter state that you need to make an e-appointment before you visit the ICA? For PR collection this is definitely required and it may well be needed for other types of passes, etc. I suggest you carefully check all the documentation that has been sent to you to make sure you take any/all required steps before going to the ICA. If you're supposed to make an e-appointment but just show up without one, it's unlikely that you will be seen.
Be careful what you wish for

Two things:

1) Did you print it yourself? Try a different printer. Sometimes they'll omit things like barcodes if it's really old or you have the wrong drivers installed.

2) You don't need to scan any barcode until you make an appointment to go to the EPSC. This is another form you print after being here, it's not on the IPA.

Your PC needs to have the correct Barcode "font" installed. "3 of 9 Barcode"
